Thanks for being here! I'm Rachel.

My current favorite song is Snowbank Blues by The Backseat Lovers, and I've been told that my vibe matches my water bottle. If you've seen it, you understand. One of my common hobbies is putting my camera in danger; it's been a productive one thus far.

After moving to Portland, Oregon in 2020, photography quickly became an outlet for me. The craving to tell stories and led me through the next five years. I photographed various sports teams, developed my skills with the learn-fail-repeat cycle through high school and college programs, and worked as a photojournalist for the Southeast Examiner. Currently, I'm pursuing my BA in Journalism at the University of Oregon and working as a photographer for FLUX, the SOJC's flagship magazine.

No matter the subject, I prioritize connection through my photography. It is the backbone of a good photo. Aside from that, it makes the whole experience all the more enjoyable. I want to have fun and play, ideally collaborating with other people, in the process of making the best art possible. The number one thing for me? Be true to myself and help others do the same.

I would love to connect. If I didn't, this whole about me section would be very hypocritical. Let's see what we can do together.
